Story:
Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

Review:
I was never a really big fan of the first 3 X-Men movies. The first one was okay, the second one was also just okay, and the third one, honestly I don't like it at all, it's lacking of something in the story I can't tell about, the story was so lame and I don't like how they eliminated the main characters.
But in this last installment or prequel of X-Men, I may call it superb and amazing. I really like it from the beginning to the end. This one is different. A great different!
Normally prequel movies are made because the main characters of the first movie died (or in the end achieved their goals) and the producers still want to make money out of the franchise, but I cannot imagine that anybody will be complaining about that. Director Matthew Vaughn created a great, thrilling and sometimes even moving picture that without any doubt will get raving reviews and be a huge commercial success.
The movie itself consists of 2 brilliant parts. The first half plays like a 70s spy thriller with Micheal Fassbender is playing the young Erik Lehnsherr, he is really nothing like the Magneto that we know. Fassbender owns the first half of the movie so well that we could really just want to watch the entire movie play out like some really cool spy thriller, where the hero just happens to have this ability to control metal. But then, the story at this point is split to showcase the other side of the coin, that of young Charles Xavier (James McAvoy). What we get is basically a glimpse into how their two different backgrounds inform their characters, their philosophies and the path towards their destinies. Comparatively, Erik's story is just the more compelling, but both are given due attention, and interestingly is how Mystique's (Jennifer Lawrence) story is woven in as well. I am really impressed by this young cast, she is playing really good as Raven.
The second half tells the story about the new team of mutants that make up the First Class of the title. Because the bad guy of the story has a team of mutants helping him, our heroes decide that they need their own team of young and very inexperienced mutants to help with the fight. The addition of these new mutants seem really superfluous, thrown in just so we do have some "X-Men" in the story.
For me, all the casts play really good part in it. They are really suit or their character in the movie. I give credit to Micheal Fassbender itself because I think he really suited for the Magneto character. He is really well played actor. The biggest letdown in the movie, is January Jones as Emma Frost. True, she is appropriately ravishing, there can be no denying that, but she lacks the character she played. There is very little intelligence or even personality behind her interpretation of this most intriguing of mutants. She's just kind of stand there and look pretty.
Overall, this prequel is a smart and brilliant reset of X-Men movies. I give applause to the director Matthew Vaughn who did all the best thing in it. He deserved all the praises for this installment. The story develops so well, is not lame and chessy, it's well done script and plot, great acts, the visual effects are great as always, it's recommended for you all the fans of X-Men or wannabe to watch this one. Even there are so many characters in the story that needs to be developed later in the next story if there is.
Good points:
- Great plot and script, the development of the story is really good
- Magneto character is really suited and well played
- The visual effects are absolutely great as always
- The direction goes very well in the hand of Matthew Vaughn
Bad points:
- Some characters are formed just to meet the title "X-Men"
- Emma Frost character is too 'cool' to be true
Rating: 8.3/10.0
